Carl Maunder

Executive Chef

Carl has more than two decades of hospitality experience in a wide range of chef roles. Currently, he is the Executive Chef at InterContinental Hotel, Wellington, New Zealand. He has led three restaurants as an owner operator, comprising original concepts developed and launched by himself.

Beginning as Sous Chef at Shed 5, Carl was promoted to Head Chef at Pravda, and then Head Chef Euro, Nourish Group’s flagship restaurant in Auckland. During this time, he worked under the direction of then Executive Chef Simon Gault.

Carl was the Executive Chef of Vida Emirates Hills and Vida Creek Harbour, an EMAAR Hospitality boutique hotel opening in Dubai.

Carl also worked as an Executive Chef for SKYCITY Entertainment Group, working with Sean Connolly and being a part of The Grill, Gusto at The Grand, Sean’s Kitchen and the award-winning restaurant in the heart of Downtown Dubai — Sean Connolly at Dubai Opera.
