Darren Parker

Head Chef

Darren is a Head Chef with 35 years in the trade from the SouthWest of England. Having spent time honing his skills in the UK at prestigious hotels such as The Grosvenor Hotel, The Dorchester and Harrods Food Halls in London, he moved to New Zealand in 1995, and has been working in various restaurants and catering businesses within the Waikato region.

Throughout his career he has provided in-home dining experiences with bespoke menus, and intimate restaurants with limited tables. He is experienced in an la carte and large catering menu design.

Currently working for one of New Zealand’s largest catering companies, he ensures the kitchen brigade delivers up to 1300 meals daily at a high-profile private school.

Appreciating that everyone does not have access to high priced, exotic ingredients, as these are not always necessary to have exciting food, Darren enjoys showing how simple ingredients can be transformed into fabulous meals and delicious treats.
